City of Kentwood Awarded for 52nd Street Reconstruction

The City of Kentwood’s Engineering Department has been awarded a Category 4 Urban Streets Award of Merit by the Asphalt Paving Awards Program for its 52nd Street reconstruction project.

The Asphalt Paving Awards program is a cooperative effort with the Asphalt Pavement Association of Michigan and the Michigan Department of Transportation to recognize excellence in asphalt pavement construction. The awards highlight asphalt projects that have high-quality construction and attention to detail.

Our Engineering Department was recognized for its project this summer on 52nd Street from Breton Avenue to Kalamazoo Avenue, which included a new water main, new asphalt pavement and a new traffic signal.  They were honored alongside other winners at an award banquet Dec. 7.

Congratulations to our Engineering Department on all of their hard work!
