Given the recent storms we've experienced, the Department of Public Works will accept brush, sticks, tree limbs and logs from storm damage at the Public Works facility, located at 5068 Breton Ave. SE. Residents are welcome to utilize the drop-off site during daylight hours through March.
BRUSH AND LEAF DROP-OFF PROGRAMS
PROGRAMS TO RUN CONCURRENTLY OCT. 13 - DEC. 8, 2018
After receiving positive feedback from the community, the City of Kentwood will continue to pilot its brush drop-off program this fall.
The program will run concurrently with the City’s annual leaf drop-off site at the Kentwood Department of Public Works, 5068 Breton Ave. SE, from Saturday, Oct. 13 through Saturday, Dec. 8. The sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
The brush drop-off site will accept brush, sticks, tree limbs and logs. Materials that cannot be accepted include: plastic bags, trash, dirt, concrete, asphalt, tires, rocks, stones, construction materials, glass or metal.
The leaf drop-off site will accept leaves and grass clippings. Leaves should be loose when dropped off. If they are transported to the site in bags, they must be dumped out.
Beyond helping make yard maintenance easier, leaf and brush collections services also help residents stay in compliance with City ordinances. The accumulation of leaves and debris within the lot line of a property or upon the adjacent right-of-way is prohibited in the City of Kentwood, as is burning leaves and brush.
The services are available to Kentwood residents only; anyone wishing to drop off items must show proof of residency. Questions may be directed to the Department of Public Works at 616.554.0817.
