South Kent Community Expo

Kentwood Activities Center (355 48th St SE)

Join us for the fourth annual South Kent Community Expo!  Explore the products and services from over 50 businesses within the community.  The expo will also feature health screenings, flu shots, and food trucks!  Admission is free and open to the general public.  Vendor space is available! If interested in becoming a vendor, contact Lorraine at (616)656-5278.

Fall Fling @ Old Farm - Doubles Disc Golf Tournament

Old Farm Park (2350 Embro Dr SE)
Join us for a doubles disc golf tournament at Old Farm Park! Bring your own partner. Best shot doubles tournament. All proceeds raised will go towards maintaining the course and all food items donated will go to The Little Free Pantry.

Tree Lighting Ceremony & Holiday Light Parade

4950 Breton SE – in front of the Kentwood Library
Join us for the Annual Community Tree Lighting Ceremony! The event takes place in front of the Kentwood Library starting with a holiday light parade. There will also be carriage rides, hot chocolate, live music, caroling, and of course a visit from Santa!

Our Winter Concert Series is back again in 2020! Join us for music from Bello Spark (1/16), Serita’s Black Rose (2/20), and Nicholas James Thomasma (3/19).  Concerts take place inside the Community Room at the Kentwood Library. Guests are welcomed to bring their own beer or wine to enjoy at the show. Each concert will also have a food truck outside. Get out of the house and join us at the Kentwood Library for winter evening fun!

Valentine's Dash 5k

Kentwood Library (4950 Breton SE)
This race will get you outside to enjoy a combination of trails and roads in Kentwood. This course is great for first-time runners but will also provide a challenge to more experienced runners. This race is perfect for running with your sweetie, soul mate, BFF or to meet someone new! Kids and families are welcome. The fastest runners will be awarded but so will the "best dressed." Those with the best Valentine themed costumes will be judged by their fellow runners to determine who is the "best dressed." Our race will have each mile marked, Valentine Candy stations, and an after party located in our Community Room at the Library.
Cost $25 per person until 12/31,  $30 per person from 1/1-2/7,  $35 per person on race day 2/8

Limb Loss Awareness 5k

Bowen Station Park (4499 Bowen Blvd)
Kentwood Parks and Recreation is once again teaming up with Hanger Clinic to offer our third annual Limb Loss Awareness 5k! This family friendly event is designed to be a fundraiser for Kentwood Parks and Recreation’s Adaptive Recreation Programs. All profits will be channeled towards improving and offering more programs for people with physical disabilities. This race takes place on the beautiful East West and Paul Henry Trails. All abilities are welcome to participate! We will also be having a kid’s 1 miles fun run!  Kids will receive a t-shirt and ribbon. Race will start and end at Bowen Station Park.
Cost Early Bird registration through 2/28:$20, 3/1-3/31: $25, 4/1-4/25: $30, Race day $35 per person. Kid's fun run is $5. Day of registrations are not guaranteed a t-shirt.
