Kentwood Police Recruitment Event

4742 Walma Ave. SE, Kentwood, MI 49512

KPD will host a recruitment event from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13 at the Kentwood Police Department, 4742 Walma Ave. SE. Individuals who are interested in a career in law enforcement are invited to learn more about the department and each of its units, tour the department and talk to current team members. The event will highlight the sponsored police recruit position as well as other employment opportunities.

Community Flu Shot Clinic

Kentwood Activities Center, 355 48th St. SE
Through a partnership with HealthBridge and Meijer, the City of Kentwood Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a Health & Wellness Flu Shot and COVID vaccination clinic. Meijer pharmacists will be available to administer vaccines. Participants will enjoy giveaways, goody bags, hand sanitizers, face masks and refreshments provided by Mission Point Healthcare. Please bring a photo ID and health insurance card.

Kentwood Glow in the Park

Pinewood (1999 Wolfboro Dr. SE)
Celebrate the fall and light up the night with a glow event and fun run! Taking place at Pinewood Park, this event will feature a variety of glow-themed activities including light up playground games and crafts, music, food and a .3-1.0 Mile Fun Run/Walk. The park path will be lit with glow sticks and other colorful lights. The evening will conclude with an after-party with music, dancing, and snacks under the park shelter.
Cost Cost: $5 per person for basic event registration, includes glow supplies or $20 per person includes t-shirt + basic event registration and glow supplies

Join us for the sixth annual South Kent Community Expo! Explore the products and services from over 50 businesses within the community. Join us for a doubles disc golf tournament at Old Farm Park! Bring your own partner. Best shot doubles tournament. Open to any skill level. All food items donated will go to The Little Free Pantry. Each participant will receive a player package at check-in with many opportunities for extra prizes during the tournament.

Tree Lighting Ceremony

Kentwood Library (4950 Breton SE)
Join us at a our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony! The event takes place in front of the Kentwood Library starting with the holiday light parade. There will also be carriage rides, kid’s crafts, holiday music, and of course a visit from Santa! We will be accepting non-perishable food donations for our Little Free Pantry to help us through the winter season.

Winter Concert Series

Kentwood Library (4950 Breton SE)

Our Winter Concert Series returns with music from Melissa Dylan (1/19), the Kevin Brewster Trio (2/16), and Lighting Matches (3/16).  Concerts take place inside the Community Room at the Kentwood Library at 6:30 p.m. Guests are welcomed to bring their own beer, wine, or beverage to enjoy at the show. Each concert will also have a food truck outside. Get out of the house and join us at the Kentwood Library for winter evening fun!

Daddy Daughter Dance

Kids are invited to bring their dads, moms, grandparents, or other relative as their "date" to our Valentine's themed dance! Refreshments & snacks will be served. There will also be a craft activity, photo area, and DJ playing fun music. Cost is $10 per person.

Valentine's Dash 5k

Kentwood Library (4950 Breton SE)
This race will get you outside to enjoy a combination of trails and roads in Kentwood. Race will begin and end at the Kentwood Library (4950 Breton Rd SE). This course is great for first-time runners or walkers but will also provide a challenge to more experienced runners. This race is perfect for running with your sweet heart, soul mate, BFF or to meet someone new! Kids and families are welcome. The fastest runners will be awarded after the event. Everyone is encouraged to wear their best Valentine themed costumes but it's not required. Runners will receive a long sleeve shirt and other goodies in their participant packets.
Cost $25 per person until 12/31,  $30 per person from 1/1-2/10,  $35 per person on race day 2/11
