Explore the newly updated Jaycee Park during this fun Shamrock Hunt! Get outside and check it out March 13-23 to see if you can spot the 12 shamrocks hidden throughout the park. Take a selfie with a shamrock, share on Facebook, and use the hashtag #KentwoodShamrockHunt or email your picture to eRecreation@kentwood.us to be entered to win a fun prize!
Join us throughout the month of April for our Blooming BINGO, an interactive spring adventure! Participants will explore our parks capturing the beauty of new spring growth through photographs to complete their BINGO cards. Those who successfully complete and submit their cards will be entered to win a basket full of fun spring prizes.
Join us for the 25th Annual Spotlight On Seniors Expo at the Kentwood Activities Center. Seniors and community members will be able to visit 50 vendors from a variety of community businesses, receive free health screenings and maybe even win a door prize! Celebrate Arbor Day with the City of Kentwood at Pinewood Park! We will kick things off with an Arbor Day proclamation, followed by a tree planting at the park. Complimentary refreshments will be available afterwards.
Kentwood Parks and Recreation is teaming up with Mary Free Bed to offer the Mary Free Bed Prosthetics Limb Loss Awareness 5k on Saturday, April 27! This family friendly event is designed to be a fundraiser for Kentwood Parks and Recreation’s Adaptive Recreation Programs. All profits will be channeled towards improving and offering more programs for people with physical disabilities. All abilities are welcome to participate! Race will start and end at Veterans Memorial Park, 355 48th St SE, Kentwood, MI 49548. We will also be having a kid’s 1 miles fun run! Kids will receive a t-shirt and ribbon.
Cost$30 per person thru 3/29, $35 per person from 3/30-4/26, $40 per person on race day 4/27
Welcome in Spring with beautiful songs sung by our talented Community Choir, led by director, Mr. Craig Swatt. This FREE concert will include classics, hymns, patriotic tunes, and more! There will be a free will offering during intermission.
Support this dog-friendly fundraiser at Kentwood’s dog park! Bring your pup to this free event to explore local pet vendors and community booths. We’ll also have food trucks on site with food and beverage for sale. Donations will be accepted throughout the event to raise funds for new amenities at the dog park. Attendees will receive a doggie bag with dog treats and other goodies to take home.

In honor of National Public Works Week, Kentwood’s Department of Public Works will host an open house 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 in partnership with the Kent County Road Commission. The open house will feature giveaways, hands-on activities, live maintenance and repair demonstrations and more.

The Vibe: A Fundraiser for Kentwood's Adaptive Recreation Programs

Join us for the eighth annual celebration and fundraiser to further enhance Kentwood’s adaptive recreation programs. The fun-filled backyard party will include cocktails, dinner, silent auction, adaptive equipment displays, and live music. Funds raised at this year’s event will go towards purchasing equipment for our adaptive recreation programs.
Get ready for an epic urban exploration with the Kentwood Adventure Scavenger Hunt! The Kentwood Adventure Scavenger Hunt is free, designed for teams of 3-5 people of all ages, and will take you through the city's picturesque parks, decode clues, and unearth hidden surprises! Register your team today to reserve your team's spot; only one registration per team required.
New event! Let's celebrate the autumnal season with a Fall Fest featuring food trucks, a Farmers Market, craft vendors, kids activities, a beer tent, and live music throughout the day! Watch for more details soon.
Celebrate the fall and light up the night with a glow event and fun run! Taking place at Veterans Memorial Park, this event will feature a variety of glow-themed activities including light up playground games and crafts, music, food and a .25-1.0 Mile Fun Run/Walk. The park path will be lit with glow sticks and other colorful lights. The evening will conclude with an after-party with music, dancing, and snacks under the park shelter.
CostCost: $5 per person for basic event registration, includes glow supplies; $15 event t-shirt

Fall Fling @ Old Farm - Doubles Disc Golf Tournament

Join us for a doubles disc golf tournament at Old Farm Park! Bring your own partner. Best shot doubles tournament. Open to any skill level. All food items donated will go to The Little Free Pantry. Each participant will receive a player package at check-in with many opportunities for extra prizes during the tournament.
CostCost: $25 per person or $50 per team plus a canned food donation
Join us at a our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony! The event takes place in front of the Kentwood Library starting with the holiday light parade. There will also be reindeer, take-home kid’s crafts, caroling, and of course a visit from Santa! Patty Matters food truck will be on site with food and beverages for purchase. Complimentary coffee and hot chocolate will also be available.
We will be accepting non-perishable food donations for our Little Free Pantry to help us through the winter season.
