Offices and Tree Drop-Off Closed Monday, Jan. 20

Please be aware our offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

This means the tree recycle site at the Kentwood Public Works facility will also be closed, as it will not be staffed. The service will resume Tuesday, Jan. 21 until Friday, Jan. 31. During open hours, residents may bring trees to the site between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. All decorations, lights, wires, tree bags and other non-natural materials must be removed in advance.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is considered a national day of service. If you're looking for ways you can help others, please consider gathering donations for Kentwood's Little Free Pantry. Kentwood's Little Free Pantry began as a community service project for MLK Day in 2017. Located inside the Kentwood Activities Center, it helps many Kentwood families in need, providing food and personal care items, no questions asked. Little Free Pantry collection bins are available to be placed out into the community. If you know of a business or organization that would be open to having a collection bin, please point them to this request form. To learn more about the pantry, go to: www.kentwood.us/littlefreepantry.
