DPW Accepting String Lights and Trees for Recycling this Winter

Tree and String Light Recycling

The Kentwood Department of Public Works will accept string lights and trees for recycling this winter.

A box for string lights will be located near the front doors of the DPW building at 5068 Breton Ave. SE  (see photo below) from Wednesday, Dec. 18 until Friday, Jan. 31. Residents can drop-off old string lights to be recycled between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Additionally, a tree recycle site will be offered at the Kentwood Public Works facility at 5068 Breton Ave. SE from Thursday, Dec. 26 until Friday, Jan. 31. Residents may bring trees to the site between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please note, all decorations, lights, wires, tree bags and other non-natural materials must be removed in advance.

As a reminder, the City's brush and leaf drop-off sites are now closed for winter. The City plans to open both drop-off sites again in the spring of 2020 from Saturday, April 4 through Saturday, May 30.
