MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Requires Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) License
  • Be at least 18 years of age;
  • Be a United States citizen at the time of testing for the position;
  • Must not have any felony convictions;
  • Possess a valid Michigan driver's license prior to hire date;

BENEFITS:

  • Overtime:
    • Paid at 1.5x or option to convert to compensatory time off
  • Insurance:
    • Employee pays only 2% of medical coverage premiums

  • Vacation:
    • 80 hours of vacation after six months of employment
    • up to 160 hours vacation accrued annually based on years of service
    • 11 paid holidays 
    • 24 hours of personal time each year
  • Paid Sick Leave:
    • 96 hours accrued annually 
    • 1,840 maximum accrual
  • Retirement:
    • 401K with 22% total contribution (12% employer, 10% employee)
    • ICMA 457 plan
  • Paid Parental Leave:
    • Four (4) weeks paid leave following birth or adoption
    • Additional two weeks for employees giving birth 
  • Continuing education and training
