Kentwood Engineering

The City Engineer is responsible for engineering review of all Kentwood projects and developments, including drainage, public utilities, flood plains, sewer and water in streets, storm water control, sidewalks, and public ways. The Engineering Department provides assistance and information in the following areas:

  • Schedule of street improvements and reconstruction
  • Storm sewer problems
  • Construction of public utilities
  • Pollution of streams and bank erosion
  • Report water pollution
  • Sidewalk repairs
  • Utility locations and plans
  • Right-of-way permits
In cooperation with the Kent County Road Commission, the City of Kentwood will impose seasonal weight restrictions beginning Monday, Feb. 24 at 6 a.m.

GVMC Transportation Plan

Grand Valley Metropolitan Council (GVMC) has completed their draft 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), which includes transportation projects and investment priorities for all modes of transportation in Kent and eastern Ottawa Counties for the next 25 years. The document is open for public comment through March 2.
