Fall Festival & Trunk or Treat Set for Oct. 19

City of Kentwood’s Fall Festival Set for Oct. 19
Event to Include Trunk or Treat, Bounce House, Hayrides and More

Trick-or-treaters are invited to don their costumes and come the City of Kentwood’s annual Fall Festival and Trunk or Treat on Saturday, Oct. 19.

The free event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Department of Public Works, located at 5068 Breton Ave. SE. Family friendly activities will include hayrides, face painting and a bounce house.

The festival will also feature the community fall-favorite, Trunk or Treat, where various City and community vehicles decorate and fill their trunks with candy.

Participants will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite trunk out of the 30 organizations and community groups that will be handing out candy and other treats throughout the morning.

Children are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes and bring their own candy-collection bag for the activity.

“Trunk or Treat gives families a safe and fun environment to take part in Halloween activities,” said Val Romeo, Kentwood Parks and Recreation director. “It’s also a joy to see how businesses and community organizations participate each year, bringing out all the stops to make wonderfully decorated trunks filled to the brim with candy.

“The excitement on kids’ faces as they venture from vehicle to vehicle and make memories with their families is something we look forward to each fall.”

Local businesses and community groups wishing to participate in Trunk or Treat can register for free online. The deadline to sign up is 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11. More information is available at www.kentwood.us/trunkortreat.
